My awesome experiences tell me that Russia is our best HOPE for a golden Future of Peace, Equality and One-with-Nature. …i.e. when this corrupt Civilisation, controlled by the global military-industrial-agri-pharmaceutical mafia, collapses.
It was Christmas of 2005 when I went to Indian Holy Man Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s main Ashram in the little town of Puttarpathi and there I found all the dormitories filled predominantly with Russians.
On my first trip in 1995, German and Japanese devotees dominated but in 2005 about 50% appeared to be Russians, although there are Sai Baba and centres in over 180 countries, including Russia, East & West Malaysia and Singapore.
Why do Russians predominate? Well, I found out the reason when I developed a racking cough (because of the cold and crowds) and was ‘rescued’ by a lovely Russian lady. We had all just participated in the 1,000 strong Christmas Choir, singing our hearts out for the birth of Christ, making new friends and enjoying vegetarian Christmas meals.
This Russian lady (wearing red in picture) heard my wet cough and said, “Come to my room tonight, I will make you warm milk and honey. And bring small towel and socks.”
I gladly accepted her invitation and she not only made me this nourishing beverage but she brought a basin of hot water and told me to put my feet in for a soak – then she towel-dried my feet and got me to put on the socks. (I felt like Mary Magdalene when Jesus washed her feet!).
Then she introduced me to another three Russian ladies and it was from the only one who could speak English that I learned that Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev’s wife Raisa was a devotee who had been to see Sai Baba a couple of times.
No, Gorbachev had never been to see Sai Baba, but his devoted wife had communicated all he needed to know and Yes, through Raisa he had consulted Sai Baba about the timing to bring down the Berlin Wall! (The year was 1993).

Wow – such revelations! There was more: I had listened to tapes of Isaac Tigrett*1 founder of the Hard Rock Café chain and a long-time devotee of Sai Baba, speak of the ‘cloud of fear’ that had prevailed over the former Soviet Union all through dictatorStalin’s tenure. And how it got lifted and freed the Russian mind, which led to Gorbachev1 and his determination to open-up the ‘Iron Curtain’*. And for me to hear this inside story from the Russian themselves!
How did this cloud of fear lift?
Tigrett*2 said that Sai Baba had got him to sit in meditation with psychotherapist-author Phyllis Krystal*3 for “4-5 hours each time, over four incredible years” and Tigrett described how they had the help of the angelic hierarchy to clear these very negative, very dark, energies .
With the bondage of their minds lifted, after the fall of the Berlin wall and the collapse of the USSR – and after suffering decades of terrible hardship, forced labour and even famine were finally over — the liberated Russians and peoples from the 15 independent states that made up the former USSR — started travelling.
And Sai Baba’s ashrams in India became a Mecca to them.
Do they come because in an ashram, everything is so cheap and clean and much warmer than Russia? Perhaps that’s part of the draw – but they truly believe that Sai Baba is GOD in Human form.
To quote Steen Picullei, a Dane who wrote in Sanathana Sarathi newsletter Nov. 2012 (a year after Sai Baba passed away on Easter Sunday, 2011)–
“The Russians have a special link with Swami (teacher)
They feel His Love, they accept his Majesty and Divinity. They do not follow the intellectual path of understanding – their hearts are wide open to his Prema (Love)…
“The Russians have always been praised by Swami for their Seva (‘Love All, Serve All’, has been Sai Baba’s constant message). They conduct 8-9 medical camps every year, they feed the poor every week, they help elders with their work in their home and they have adopted several orphanages in the Zone.
“There are family and youth camps and also camps with the children from the orphanages….Steen was writing from his position as Zone chairman, Russian-speaking countries, Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation.
Then, in Dec-Jan 2018-2019, I was in India again! My dorm mates in Prashanti Nilayam (Abode of Peace), Puttarpathi, where Sai Baba’s mortal remains are entombed, were Russian and European. Though it was already 26 December 2018, all the dormitories were packed, but I managed to get a bed!
My Russian dorm mates could speak some English and we further bonded over Anastasia of Siberia & the Ringing Cedars series of books that have inspired, since the mid 1990s, a global movement to return to the land and create ‘Kins’ Domains and self-sufficient eco-villages. Each family – under the Putin government — gets one hectare free on the condition that they live there and grow their own food, organically.
To date, there are 337 Anastasia dedicated eco communities – in Russia alone!
And the Russian Parliament banned GMOs two years ago saying “We do not want to poison our people” and recently, “We will feed the world with Organic food.” Their organic food production earns Russia more revenue than arms sales!
My Russian dorm mates and I exchanged gifts – I gave Voronina my sleeping bag and she gave me a green cloth pennet with Anastasia’s Cedar tree logo.
Then, on New Year’s Eve, my Indian-Muslim taxi driver Anwar drove me toMuddenahalli, ‘The Energetic Centre of the Universe’, in the sacred Nandi hills where ageless saints still reside. This is the launch-pad of Sai Baba’s second mission which began in 2014.
From here ‘Subtle Body’ Sookshma Sai Baba’s’ volunteer team, led by his former student Madhusudhan, with Isaac Tigrett as wise elder, radiate out non-stop a series of mega building projects. Super Specialty Hospitals*4, Schools, Colleges-Universities*5, Water & Food service projects – all absolutely FREE – not only in India but globally.
New Year’s Eve 2018 was also packed at Muddenahalli – all foreign visitors were given only mattress-space in the music room. My mattress mates were two very elderly Russian sisters who spoke no English…but I was most impressed. The bitter cold and heavy morning mists notwithstanding, the sisters had their showers and slipped out before dawn for prayers, while I huddled, under several blankets, wishing I had not given my sleeping bag away so hastily!.
And who is this Siberian mystic Anastasia? What is this special connection between the Russians and Sathya Sai Baba.
Anastasia, through her scribe, trader Vladimir Megre, says she is the “last of the Vedic Rus”…and the word Russia means ‘Seeding the Light’ for the new World, the New Civilisation*6 – and the fuel-power is Go back to Nature…’Create your Kin’s Domain, A Space of Love’.
